KABUL – A key Taliban Commander on the UN sanctions list has been arrestedin Afghanistan.
The deputy finance minister of the Taliban regime AbdulJalil Haqqani hasbeen arrested by police forces, the Ministry of Interior said Monday,Khaama Press has reported.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Interior (MoI), AbdulJalil Haqqani, the former deputy finance of Taliban was arrested from SpinBoldak district of Kandahar yesterday.
The statement further added that Haqqani’s name was included in thesanctions list of the United Nations as well as the Interpol list.
According to the Ministry of Interior, Haqqani was arrestedas he wasattempting to cross the border with fake passport and travel to Pakistan.
