ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that his government hasfacilitated a meeting between US and Taliban officials on Afghan peace andthat the talks will be held in the near future.
The reports say that Khan, who addressed an event in Peshawar city onFriday, said the meeting will take place on Monday.
Media reports indicate that the meeting will take place either in Pakistanor in the United Arab Emirates.
Sources from Afghanistan political parties said the meeting will take placebetween the US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation ZalmayKhalilzad and a number of Taliban officials.
The sources added that Afghanistan National Security Advisor HamdullahMohib will also appear in the meeting.
