ISLAMABAD: National Highway Authority (NHA) has been striving to constructnetwork of highways and motorways in less-developed areas of the countrywith special focus on Balochistan. Work on federal road infrastructureprojects in Balochistan was continuing to bring the area at par with thedeveloped ones, an official of NHA told APP on Monday.
He said that for dualization and improvement of Yarik-Sagu-Zhob section ofN-50 CPEC western alignment, Rs. 7000 million have been allocated in thePublic Sector Development Programme out of which Rs. 600 million have beenreleased.
For construction of 106km Basima-Khuzdar Highway, Rs. 500 million have beenallocated in the present fiscal, he said out of which Rs. 200 million havebeen released while for construction of black top road Yakmach-Kharanhighway Rs. 2000 million have been allocated in the PSDP of the ongoingfiscal year, he informed.
He said for National Highway Development Sector Improvement Programme atotal of Rs. 3000 million have been allocated and QilaSaifullah-Loralai-Wagum Rud section of N-70 is being rehabilitated underthis programme.
Moreover, Zhob-Mughalkot section of N-50 is also being rehabilitated underthe scheme.
He said that Rs. 250 million have been allocated for rehabilitation andimprovement of 120km Quetta-Dhadhar section of N-65 out of which Rs. 100million have been released.
He said that Rs. 250 million have been allocated for 22 km Kararo-Wadhsection of N-25, out of which Rs 100 million have been released.
He said that for widening and strengthening of 32 km section of RakhiGajj-Bewata section of N-70, Rs. 2000 million have been allocated while Rs.40 million have been released so far.
For construction of 107 km Ziarat More- Kech-Hamai Road and Hamai-Sanjaviroad Rs. 250 million have been earmarked out of which Rs 100 million havebeen released,he said.
