SEOUL – Korean professors declared the use of pellet guns by Indian forcesin Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) as contrary to the InternationalHumanitarian Law (IHL).
Their views were expressed by eminent academicians at a Workshop onInternational Humanitarian Law in the context of Kashmir issue, which wasorganized at the Korea Press Club by the Embassy of Pakistan, Seoul.
Distinguished professors were the keynote speakers at the Workshopincluding Dr. Asif Qureshi, Professor of International Law at KoreaUniversity, Dr. Eric Lee, Professor of International Law at DonggukUniversity and Dr. Lee Whiejin, Ex-Ambassador of Republic of Korea.
Ambassador of Pakistan Rahim Hayat Qureshi condemned the gross human rightsviolations being perpetrated by Indian occupation forces in the OccupiedKashmir.
He said that peace in South Asia is impossible without resolution of theoutstanding Kashmir dispute, and that no solution is workable withoutrecognition of this right of the people.
The guest speakers shed light on the violations of InternationalHumanitarian Law in the held valley of Kashmir.
