*ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Wednesday telephonedhis Japanese counterpart Taro Kono, to discuss Indo-Pak escalation andoverall situation of the region.*
In telephonic conversation, Qureshi apprised Japanese Foreign Minister TaroKono about steps taken by Islamabad to defuse tensions between both theneighbour countries.
“Pakistan is a peace loving country and desires for enduring peace andstability in the region”, FM contented.
He said a Pakistani delegation will leave for India on March 14 to attendtalks over Kartarpur crossing.
Recalling Pakistan’s initiatives, the FM said that Islamabad has decided tosend back its ambassador to New Delhi, sooner.
Meanwhile, the Japanese FM appreciated PM Imran Khan decision of freeingcaptured Indian Pilot Abhinandan Varthaman as peace gesture.
Taro Kono urged both the countries [Pakistan and India] to resolve theirissues through holding negotiations.
India continuing to react aggressively despite Pakistan’s peace efforts, asrecently Pakistan Navy had detected its submarine and successfully foiledits bid to intrude into the Pakistani waters.
The situation between the neighbouring countries turned hostile in atit-for-tat airstrikes following the Pulwama attack that killed over 40Indian troops in occupied Kashmir on Feb 14.
