ISLAMABAD – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said on Wednesday thattension between Pakistan and India were de-escalating which was adevelopment, and this is why they are sending back their high commissioner.
Speaking to the media, the foreign minister said that due to the reducingtension between the two neighbors, Pakistan has decided to send backPakistan’s High Commissioner to India. He said that this decision was takento further increase diplomatic efforts between Pakistan and India.
The foreign minister continued saying that as per decided, a Pakistanidelegation will visit New Delhi to discuss the draft Agreement on KartarpurCorridor. Thanking US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Qureshi added that UShad played a pivotal role in de-escalating tensions between the twoneighbors.
Qureshi also thanked the foreign ministers of China, Turkey, Russia, UAEand Jordan for helping in reducing tension between Pakistan and Indiaduring the last two weeks, local media reported.
Earlier, the foreign minister had addressed a national conference on thestart of the next phase of China Pakistan Economic Corridor at Institute ofStrategic Studies Islamabad. The minister stressed on the relationshipbetween Pakistan and China and said that both are positive factor of peaceand stability in the region.
