PM Modi responsible for Pulwama attack, creating war hysteria, West Bengal CM lashes out

NEW DELHI – Indian West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee made shockingallegations that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is directlyresponsible for the Pulwama attavk in Indian occupied Kashmir.

According to the *The* *Hindu*, the chief minister claimed that Indianpremier did not try to prevent the Pulwama incident despite knowing that amilitant attack was about to take place.

The statement comes days after Modi-led government accused Pakistan ofsupporting a banned outfit Jaishe-e-Muhammad, which reportedly claimedresponsibility of the suicide attack in Indian-occupied Kashmir’s (IoK)Pulwama district killing at least 44 Indian paramilitary personnel.

Addressing a meeting of the Trinamool Congress [TMC] here on Monday, Ms.Banerjee asked why the Prime Minister did not play a pro-active role instopping the attack.

“You [Mr. Modi] knew that the attack would take place. Intelligence inputwas there. But they [jawans] were neither airlifted, nor was there any nakachecking or road checking. Everyone was allowed to move freely. Why? Inorder to take advantage during the election. Now Modi is trying play a gameof war,” Ms. Banerjee said.

“They [BJP] are calling people and offering money to join the party. Whereis this money coming from,” Ms. Banerjee said.

She also accused the BJP of instigating Hindus against the Muslims.

“They [BJP] have bought burqha and are making [miscreants] wear those. Thenthey are spreading rumour that these are cheledhora [child abductors]. Theobjective of doing this is to turn the Hindu community against the Muslimsand we have been informed about such incidents,” Ms. Banerjee said andasked the party leaders to maintain calm.

“Resist such moves but do not take the law into your hands. Complain to thepolice and if they do not act come to my house…report to me directly,” shesaid.
