ISLAMABAD – The federal cabinet approved on Tuesday the construction ofhigh-rise buildings in Islamabad.
In February, the government had asked the Capital Development Authority andCivil Aviation Authority to submit a plan to allow the construction of thebuildings without any height restriction.
The LDA and CDA were instructed that cities should be built vertically,said Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry while addressing a pressconference. “The cabinet has finished the height restrictions now.”
The builders will no longer need to get any NOC (no-objection certificate)from the CAA or CDA before constructing any buildings now, he said.

The decision to expand Islamabad vertically was taken by Prime MinisterImran Khan because of the increasing population in the federal capital andfor the preservation of green areas. “We hope this will attract investmentin Islamabad,” said the federal minister.
