ISTANBUL: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has landed in Turkey toattend the emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation(OIC) after the New Zealand Mosque attacks, on Friday.
According to reports, the emergency meeting of OIC will be held in Istanbulon Friday (today) to discuss the Christchurch massacre and increasingviolence based on Islamophobia.
A statement was published by the Turkish foreign ministry on Thursday whichinformed that Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu would chair the meeting.
“Turkey, as the OIC Summit Chair, has called upon holding an emergencymeeting for discussing the increasing violence based on Islamophobia,racism and xenophobia, in particular the terrorist attack that targeted twomosques in New Zealand on 15 March 2019,” the statement said.
