SRINAGAR – In occupied Kashmir, a Jamaat-e-Islami activist and principal ofa private school tortured to death in the custody of India’s NationalInvestigating Agency in Srinagar.
The 28-year-old activist identified as Rizwan Asad, who was arrested by thesleuths of Indian National Investigation Agency from Awantipora area ofPulwama district three days ago was killed at the infamous Indian torturecenter, Cargo camp, which is run by the Special Operations Group.
The custodial killing triggered forceful anti-India protests in differentareas of the territory including Pulwama and Srinagar districts.
Students of Kashmir University in Srinagar also held forcefuldemonstrations against the custodial death of the school principal and thesummoning of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq by Indian agency, NIA.
Several people were injured when troops fired bullets, pellets and teargasshells on the mourners in the area.
Spontaneous shutdown was observed in Srinagar, Pulwama and other areas ofthe territory against Rizwan Asad’s killing in NIA custody.
The authorities suspended Internet and mobile phone services in Pulwamadistrict.
The Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz UmarFarooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik condemning the killing of Rizwan Asad hascalled for a complete shutdown across the territory tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmirchapter at a meeting in Islamabad today with Convener, Syed AbdullahGilani, urged the international community to take notice of the Indianatrocities in occupied Kashmir.
