ISLAMABAD – The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is set to launchunprecedented initiative for top tax payers of Pakistan.
FBR is planning to issue ‘privilege’ cards to the country’s top taxpayers.The move is aimed at promoting the taxpaying culture and increasing the taxnet in the country.
The cards were first launched by the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N)government in 2014 where as many as 200 top taxpayers were awarded thiscard.
In the latest development, the sources say, the revenue collecting agencywill split the tax-compliant people into two categories:

1. Those who pay taxes up to Rs. 10 million annually 2. Those who pay up to Rs. 5 million every year in taxes
The ‘privilege and honor cards’ entitle its’ holder to enjoy some specialservices. These services include excellence awards from the government,access to VIP lounges at airports, and fast-track clearance at immigrationcounters, the source added.
