ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Army successfully conducted the training launch ofsurface to surface ballistic missile Shaheen-II, Inter Services PublicRelations (ISPR) said in a press release on Thursday.
Shaheen-II is capable of carrying both conventional and nuclear warheads upto a range of 1,500 kilometres.
According to ISPR, Shaheen-II meets Pakistan’s strategic needs towards themaintenance of desired deterrence stability in the region.
The training launch, having its impact point in the Arabian Sea, waswitnessed by Director General Strategic Plans Division, Commander ArmyStrategic Forces Command, Chairman NESCOM, senior officers from the ArmyStrategic Forces Command, Scientists and Engineers of the strategicorganizations.
Chairman JCSC and Services Chiefs congratulated the Scientists andEngineers on conduct of today’s successful training launch. President andPrime Minister of Pakistan have also conveyed their congrats on theachievement.
