KABUL- In Afghanistan, eleven security forces personnel and seventeenTaliban militants were killed in fresh clashes in Zabul and Kunduzprovinces on Thursday.
Shinkay district chief told media that militants armed with guns and rocketpropelled grenade stormed security checkpoints in Sayywara locality of thedistrict late last night.
The security forces fought back the attackers and clashes lasted for hours.
He said three police officers and 12 militants were also wounded but themilitants fled to nearby mountains after reinforcement arrived at the area..
