News of a potential alliance between the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) is circulating ahead of the general elections. Senior journalist Azaz Syed has analyzed the situation, suggesting that the PTI is targeting Punjab while the PPP is focusing on Sindh, and both parties are in close proximity to achieving their goals.
Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari have the ability to turn the impossible into possible. During a conversation on Geo News, Azaz Syed pointed out that the reduced hostilities in politics are attributed to the absence of PTI Chairman Imran Khan. Imran Khan is currently in jail, and the political atmosphere has become less confrontational, particularly after the reduction in political rhetoric.
Azaz Syed noted that there is no animosity between the PTI and PPP as they have common elements. Asad Qaiser and Ali Muhammad Khan have met with Maulana Fazlur Rehman in the past, and their contacts have been maintained. Furthermore, during the vote of no-confidence, the PTI had reached out to the PPP and sent a message of support to Asif Zardari.
However, Asif Zardari declined the offer. At present, both the PTI and PPP are in close proximity to their respective goals. The lawyers of the PPP are representing Imran Khan, and Bilawal Bhutto did not object to it.
The PTI's focus is on Punjab, as they are not finding a suitable candidate for the upcoming elections. The PPP, on the other hand, is primarily concerned with gaining power in Punjab. The PPP is open to forming a political alliance on its terms.
