Multan Metro Bus: Chinese officials reportedly confess corruption, kickbacks worth billions

ISLAMABAD – Chinese officials have confessed corruption and money transfer worth billions in the Multan Metro Bus Project.

Chinese authorities have reportedly contacted their Pakistani counterparts over alleged corruption in Multan metro bus. Beijing had apprehended two officials of the Chinese company overseeing the project. The two officials have confessed to receving kickbacks, Dunya News has reported.

A three-member Pakistani team headed by Shehzad Akbar will leave for Beijing. The other two members include National Accountablity Bureau Director General Irfan Mangi and NAB Multan Deputy Director Shahid.

According to sources, the team will record the statement of the two Chinese officials who confessed to transferring billions to China while working on the metro bus project.
