FAISALABAD: Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and martyrs of Karbala was observed amid tight security arrangements here.
Before start of processions, religious scholars highlighted the significance of the supreme sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and martyrs of Karbala.
No untoward incident was reported during the Majalis and mourning processions of Chehlum from any part of the district till filing of the story.
The police made foolproof security arrangements by deploying over 1300 policemen and installing walk-through gates at all entry points of the 17 Majalis and 12 mourning processions.
The teams of Elite Force also remained on patrolling duty.
The mourners were strictly checked by volunteers and police at entry gates of processions and Majalis through metal detectors.
All roads and streets leading to the central Imambargahs in Aminpur Bazaar and Imambargah chowk were sealed.
The traffic police had devised special traffic plan for maintaining traffic. The Rescue 1122 also made arrangements to deal with any emergency.
