Pakistan, being hub of CPEC a destination for logistical chains: Masood

ISLAMABAD: President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Masood Khan says Pakistan, being hub of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, is both a conduit and a destination for logistical chains, trade and investment. Addressing a seminar in Vienna, he said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is the flagship project and an offshoot of the Belt and Road Initiative.

The AJK President said CPEC is not just a stand-alone project but it is developed into a network for connecting East Asia, South Asia, Central, West, and Southwest Asia.

He said Gwadar Port, in particular will give Russia access to warm waters via Central Asia for international trade, helping begin a new phase of cooperation between Russia and Pakistan.

Masood Khan said concerted joint investments by Europe, Pakistan and China under the umbrella of CPEC will create huge opportunities for livelihoods, businesses and human development.

The AJK President said Azad Kashmir promotes and protects human rights, whereas the human rights situation in the Indian occupied Kashmir is horrendous.

He urged the international community to intercede to put an end to human rights crisis in Indian occupied Kashmir.
