NEW DELHI: Pakistan High Commissioner to India, Abdul Basit said that war between two rivals is not an option to settle the issues.
He claimed that both countries are cooperating on different matters including Pathankot terror attack probe and will be benefited from peace in the region.
He said “Only fools can think that confrontation would solve the problems between India and Pakistan.”
“Till the time we don’t sit and discuss the issues, I don’t think the problem can be solved,” he added.
He claimed that the recent visits of Sushma Swaraj and Narendra Modi to Pakistan has developed the relations but a lot is needed to be done to resume the peace talks.
Foreign Secretary level talks between India and Pakistan were cancelled after Pathankot airbase attack in January.
Basit’s remarks came just days after of Narendra Modi wished his Pakistani counterpart for open heart surgery that is taking place in UK.
