Leaders of the country’s opposition parties on Thursday expressed their satisfaction that they had the required numbers in the NA to oust the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government.
In an important meeting at the residence of the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly (NA) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif’s home in Islamabad, the opposition leaders vowed that in the light of the constitution, they would exercise their right to vote on the no-trust motion on the given day, and made it clear to Prime Minister Imran Khan that they will not give him an NRO at any cost.
They also rejected reports doing rounds on media and said such reports could not dent the opposition’s resolve to vote on the motion. All these reports are misleading, they declared.
The opposition parties’ leaders said that by getting the no-confidence motion against the government passed, they would help usher in a new era of democratic norms and traditions.
