NEW DELHI: Three Muslim Students were allegedly beaten in India’s capital New Delhi by Hindu Extremists for refusing to say “Bharat Mata Ki Jay”.

Hindu extremists thrashed them abruptly which left two students wounded and one sustained arm fracture.

A victim Dilkash said “We had gone to nearby park. Some men came and slapped one of my friends. They asked us to say ‘Jai Mata Ki’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and threatened to kill us. I don’t know them, but I can recognize them.”

He claimed that when we refused to say, they started beating us with bamboo sticks. We managed to go back to Mosque and called the police.

Case has been registered at Begumpur police station under sections 323 (causing hurt), 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint) and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.

Earlier, AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi also denied to say the same and claimed that he will not chant that slogan even if Hindu extremists put a knife on his neck.

A few days later, a Muslim lawmaker Waris Khan’s assembly membership was suspended from the Maharashtra Assembly for refusing to chant the slogan.
