ISLAMABAD - Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Pakistan Sirajul Haq rejecting the proposal of boycotting the parliament has said that the new Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government should be given a chance to work freely.
Addressing a press conference on Monday, Sirajul Haq said that the JI wants continuation of democracy and supremacy of the parliament. He said that though the ECP failed in holding fair and free elections but still conduction of election was a welcome sign.
Siraj said that lack of some intensely needed measures dented the polling process. “Despite having reservations over the way general election was held, the new government should be given a chance to prove its capabilities,” the deputy president MMA added.
The JI chief said that the result of election were not released in timely manner making the process suspicious and sending polling agents out while the votes were being counted was regrettable.
The MMA deputy president said that an effort had been made to target democracy; however, despite having serious reservations, his party was ready to give a chance to the new government to prove itself.
Siraj further stated that we will wait for PTI Chief Imran Khan to fulfill his promise of making Pakistan a welfare state like Madina.
