ECP seeks report for stamped ballot papers in Karachi's Garbage

KARACHI: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday has sought report from concerned authorities over recovering stamped ballot papers from heap of garbage in Karachi.
After getting the stamped ballot in garbage, the ECP sought report from the provincial office, commissioner, district returning officer and returning officer.
ECP was informed the votes, cast in the favour of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) and All Pakistan Muslim League in NA-241, were tried to burn.
Responding to the issue the issue of recovering stamped ballot papers and voting cards from heap of garbage, PPP leaders said that ballot papers of PPP and other political outfits were put out of the ballot boxes while those of ‘specific party’ were inserted inside the ballot boxes”.
