Federal Government releases Rs 734 million for AJK

The federal government has released an amount of 734.6 million rupees for six public welfare and environmental protection projects under the Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project.
According to the official sources, the amount will be utilized for the welfare projects of local people and minimize the environmental hazards in Muzaffarabad district.
Under this amount, funds have been released to AJK Forest Department for constructing a Recreational Park and Water Shed Management at Chatter Kallas area to protect the land from erosion.
Meanwhile, the Environment Protection Department has also been provided requisite funds to setup Testing Laboratories in Muzaffarabad.
The AJK Planning and Development Department has directed the concerned departments for timely completion of these projects.
