Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar asked the Government to look into the matter of increase in number of Judge of Islamabad High Court or else the Apex Court would take a Suo Motu notice.
During his conversation with additional Attorney General Ishtiaq Ahmed Khan, the Chief Justice recounted that the government was forwarded recommendations pertaining to increasing number of Judges in the IHC during the tenure of caretaker government.
Questioning the Additional Attorney General as to why the government was not increasing number of judges in IHC, the Chif Justice noted, "all high Courts across the Country are Important, but the Islamabad High Court has some very important cases."
Justice Nisar said there were only four judges in the IHC, who were greatly burdened. He said a two-member bench of the Islamabad High Court could not be constituted owing to shortage of judges.
