Foreign Minister’s Qatar visit to help in bringing peace and stability in the region: Analysts

The visit of Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi to Qatar is vital and this visit will definitely be helpful in bringing peace and stability in the region. Foreign Minister held meetings with high Qatari officials and discussed Afghan peace and regional situation.

Pakistan could play a facilitator role in bringing Taliban on negotiation table. Pakistan and Qatar emphasized on the need to enhance the bilateral trade between Pakistan and Qatar to correspond to the true potential of the two countries. Pakistan valued its relations with Qatar and had always enjoyed support and cooperation of the Qatari leadership in testing times.

Already relations between the two countries are established on mutual cooperation, traditional friendship and people-to-people as well as government-to-government contacts and in the days to come they will grow stronger.

In my opinion the criminal silence of international community over human rights violation in Indian Held Kashmir has broken after the first ever report of United Nations clearly indicating that Indian forces are involved in worst human rights violations in Held Kashmir.

OIC has also condemned Indian human rights violations. Pakistan effectively highlighted Kashmir dispute on all international fora including UN General Assembly. UN General Secretary also admitted that The UN’s military mission is only able to operate on the Pakistani controlled side of the LoC, as India refuses to accept its functioning on the other side and opposes its expansion. New Delhi is set to impose President’s rule in the Held Kashmir that means that Kashmir is getting out of Indian control.

Qatar is the first country that allowed Taliban to open a political office there. The Taliban office in Qatar became significant after U.S initiated peace dialogue with Taliban. A large number of Pakistanis were contributing to Qatar’s economy and growth by doing wonderful work in various fields such as health, education, medicine, sports, architecture, law and construction. Qatar has become an influential gulf state.

Pak-Qatar bilateral relations have always been stable. We have observed remarkable development in the recent years between two countries, especially in the economic and energy sectors. Foreign Minister will discuss the Afghan reconciliation process, bilateral relations and other important regional and global issues in his meetings with Qatari leadership.

Pakistan is now effectively perusing its foreign policy according to the regional and global situation. The focus is on promoting bilateral relations with other countries on equality basis. Pak-US relations have also been improving. United States is also well aware of Pakistan’s geographical importance and wants its support in respectful withdrawal of NATO forces from Afghanistan.

Relations between the two are shaped by Pakistan’s generally close relations with the Arab world. The gathering of Qatari and Pakistani businessmen can pave the way for agreements aimed at bolstering bilateral trade focusing on the commodities and streamline the flow of exports from Pakistan to Qatar. Doha can support Islamabad in its economic stability. There is sufficient trade potential that exists between the two countries. If Pakistan utilizes the DTT and BIT well, it can reap much more exports from Qatar in the textile sectors.

The silence of so-called champions of human rights over the Indian brutalities in Held Kashmir is beyond understandings but the fact is that India cannot stop the Kashmiris’ liberation struggle through use of different brutal methods.

An Indian ex-defense minister has also admitted that Kashmir is now out of Indian control and prevailing situation in Kashmir is worst. The doctrine of incumbent Indian government is to suppress the Kashmiri movement for their right to self determination by force but it will never succeed in doing so. None of the Indian neighbor countries have good relations with India. Pakistan wants to resolve all outstanding issues with India through dialogue but it seems that Indian hegemonious mentality is creating hurdles in this regard.
