PTI leader re-arrested shortly after release

KARACHI- PTI leader Haleem Adil Sheikh, who had been arrested outside the Sindh High Court (SHC) yesterday, was presented before the Karachi ATC today. During the hearing, the police requested a physical remand of the former Sindh opposition leader, but the ATC denied this request.

Despite the police's request being rejected and the court ordering the immediate release of the PTI Sindh chapter president, he was promptly taken into custody by Sindh police in connection with another case shortly after being released.

It's worth noting that Haleem Adil Sheikh, a leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, was arrested outside the SHC. He had been the former opposition leader in the Sindh Assembly and had gone missing after the vandalism on May 9. His arrest occurred after he arrived at the SHC seeking bail in relation to the vandalism case. The police had been seeking to arrest Sheikh in connection with the violence on May 9, and he is one of the few PTI leaders who have remained loyal to the party.

Earlier in the day, he challenged his non-bailable arrest warrants from an anti-terrorism court in Hyderabad for the May 9 incident at the Sindh High Court. Sheikh claimed to have obtained protective bail from the Peshawar High Court (PHC), and the Sindh High Court had also prohibited his arrest in any case.
