ISLAMABAD: (APP) Rain-thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Zhob divisions, Khaber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Punjab, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir while mainly hot and humid to prevail in most parts of the country during next 24 hours.
Weak seasonal low lies over North Balochistan. A westerly wave is affecting upper and central parts of the country and may affect during next 48 hours, an official of Met office told APP.
In last 24 hours rain-thunderstorm with gusty winds occurred at scattered places in Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Sargodha divisions, KP, and Gilgit-Baltistan while at isolated places in D.G khan, Quetta, Sibbi divisions and Kashmir.
Rainfall recorded during this time span was Punjab: Mianwali 35mm, Murree 12mm, Chakwal 04mm, Islamabad (Z.P 02mm, Saidpur 01mm), Rawalpindi, D.G khan 01mm. K.P: Dir 26mm, D.I khan 20mm, Banu 11mm, Cherat 08mm, Balakot 04mm, Kalam, Mirkhani 02mm, Kakul, Malamjabba 01mm. FATA: Parachinar 10mm, Balochistan: Barkhan 44mm, Sibbi 21mm, and Kashmir : Muzaffarabad 02mm.
Maximum temperatures recorded on Wednesday were Turbat 43øC, Jacobabad 41øC, Multan 37øC, Hyderabad 36øC, Faisalabad, Quetta 35øC, Islamabad, Lahore 34øC, Peshawar 33øC, Karachi, Chitral, Muzaffarabad 32øC, Kalat 31øC, Gilgit 29øC, Hunza 24øC, Murree 23øC, and Skardu 21øC.
