Electoral list verification second phase by ECP

ISLAMABAD: (APP) The second phase of a campaign to review electroal list will start from September 20.

In the second phase, Election Commission of Pakistan will display electoral lists for public at various display centers till October 10.

Official sources on Wednesday said first phase of a campaign to review electoral list and registration of new voters has been completed under which ECP verification staff visited door-to-door for verification of votes.

The sources said first phase of reviewing electoral lists was started from August 10 and finished on August 29.

Giving further details, the sources said the process of verification has almost 94 percent completed in punjab, 88 percent in Sindh, 93 percent in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and in Balochistan 89 percent process has been completed.

On special directives, all offices of Election Commission of Pakistan were remained opened on Saturday and Sunday to complete the process in time.

The sources said voters can also confirm their names in voters list through sending SMS to 8300.

The total number of registered voters is above 93 million including chances of 5 to 6 million new voters.

All new National Identity Card (NIC) holders shall be made part of the electoral rolls and all voters who have become disqualified (deaths/cancelled NICs) shall be excluded from the rolls after their door-to-door verification followed by display process.
