LPG Prices in Pakistan witness massive increase by OGRA

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) made an announcement in Islamabad concerning a significant hike in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices. As per the latest adjustment by OGRA, the cost of LPG has risen by Rs20.86 per kilogram, resulting in a new fixed price of Rs 260.98 per kilogram for LPG.

Moreover, the domestic cylinder rate has also experienced a substantial increase, with an additional Rs246.15 added to its price. Consequently, the revised rates for LPG, with the recent price increments, now stand at Rs3,079.64 per domestic cylinder.

It is noteworthy that Pakistan recently received its inaugural shipment of 100,000 metric tons of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) from Russia. This development was conveyed through a statement from the Russian Embassy to Pakistan on a social media platform, where it was mentioned that Moscow successfully delivered the first batch of LPG, amounting to 100,000 metric tons, to Pakistan.

The LPG shipment entered Pakistan via Iran's Sarakh's Special Economic Zone (SEZ), and discussions between Pakistan and Russia are underway for a potential second LPG shipment.

In light of these updates, it is evident that the LPG market in Pakistan is experiencing significant fluctuations, both in terms of pricing and international supply partnerships.
