Foreign Intelligence Agencies intercepting phone calls of ministers and important top officials in Pakistan: Report

ISLAMABAD – Foreign intelligence agencies are tracing and intercepting phone calls of important personalities and ministries, the National Telecommunication and Information Technology Security Board said in a report Sunday.
The board said several tracking devices have been installed at the Diplomatic Enclave and Constitution Avenue that are designed to infiltrate telephone calls and messages.
Senate Standing Committee on Interior Chairman Rehman Malik while taking notice of the incident directed the Ministry of Interior to submit its report within 10 days and track down the complex machinery.
The NTISB report points to the involvement of foreign intelligence agencies which are intercepting calls in Islamabad, he said, adding that spying on any country is a violation of international laws.
