ICC makes important announcement over Champions Trophy in Pakistan

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has presented a plan for the qualification process for the 2025 Champions Trophy to be hosted in Pakistan. Only teams that are actively participating in the 2023 World Cup will be considered eligible for qualification in the upcoming Champions Trophy.
The ICC's announcement specifies that teams ranking in the top 7 positions in the World Cup's round-robin stage will automatically secure their place in the tournament alongside the host nation, Pakistan.
It's worth noting that teams ranking at the two lowest positions in the World Cup standings will be excluded from qualification, regardless of their performance in future One Day International matches.
This eligibility framework means that even the West Indies, the champions of the 2004 Champions Trophy who couldn't qualify for the 2023 World Cup, won't have the opportunity to compete in the 2025 edition.
The report sheds further light on the fact that many cricket boards were not previously aware of this qualification process.
