IHC dismisses plea seeking Asia Masih's name on ECL

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Monday turned down a petition seeking to place Asia Masih’s name on Exit Control List (ECL) for her alleged involvement in blasphemy act.
A divisional bench comprising Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb conducted hearing on a petition filed by a citizen.
The court stated in its orders that the petition was non-maintainable as the apex court had already reserved its judgment on appeal of Asia against her conviction in blasphemy case.
During hearing, Justice Minallah remarked that the IHC couldn’t intervene into the proceeding of apex court as the matter was already under process before it.
The bench subsequently dismissed the petition declaring it non-maintainable.
