Qandeel Baloch murder case: Police makes startling revelations in court

ISLAMABAD - Qandeel Baloch was murdered at the residence of Mufti Abdul Qavi’s close friend, police told a court on Monday.

The suspects arrested in connection with the murder, Waseem and Haq Nawaz, were presented before Multan district and sessions court judge Ameer Muhammad Khan.

Qandeel’s father, Muhammad Azeem, was also present at the hearing.

The investigation officer of the case sought time from the judge to submit a charge sheet. The judge told him to submit the final charge sheet on November 20.

During the hearing, Qandeel’s father alleged that his daughter was killed on Mufti Abdul Qavi’s orders.

The self-proclaimed actress and model Qandeel Baloch was strangled by her own brother Waseem and cousin Haq Nawaz in the name of ‘honour’ in July last year. Waseem had later confessed to his crime before the police and the media.

Azeem further alleged that Qavi had offered him money to drop the charges against him.

“I will never forgive Mufti Abdul Qavi and want her [Qandeel’s] murderers to be brought to justice,” he said.

Qavi, a former member of the moon-sighting committee, was arrested last week after a court rejected extension in his pre-arrest bail.
