OGRA increases LNG prices across the country

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has officially announced a rise in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices, indicating a Rs3.83 per kg increase.

Simultaneously, the domestic cylinder rate has surged by Rs45.18, resulting in new LPG rates of Rs3,007.35 per domestic cylinder. OGRA attributes this price hike to a 1.87 percent increase in the dollar rate.

Additionally, concerns about a potential LPG shortage during the upcoming winter season have been raised, with the gas company urging stakeholders to book shipments in advance. Factors such as a lack of dollars and the closure of Letter of Credits (LCs) have impeded LPG imports.

Notably, Karachi recently witnessed the arrival of the largest-ever cargo ship carrying 11,000 metric tons of LPG from Basra, Iraq – a historic moment for Pakistan.
