US government responds over Pakistan decision of opening Kartarpur border corridor

WASHINGTON: Deputy Spokesperson U.S. State Department Robert Palladino has responded over the decision of opening Kartarpur border between Pakistan and India.
US has welcomed the Pakistan decision of opening Kartarpur corridor for the Sikh community.
He termed it a big step towards peace in South Asia and addig that it will be instrumental in building trust between India and Pakistan.
Palladino said US appreciated Pakistan s efforts to increase contact between peoples of the two countries are commendable.
Peaceful and normal relations among Pakistan and India are important for the development of both the countries and the region, he added.
Earlier on November 29, Prime Minister Imran Khan performed groundbreaking of Kartarpur corridor for Sikhs in India to visit a shrine to their religion‘s founder in eastern Pakistan.
