Nawaz Sharif tasks senior leaders to placate PML-N disgruntled lawmakers

ISLAMABAD - Senior PML-N leaders have been tasked by the party president Nawaz Sharif with placating the South Punjab lawmakers who tendered their resignations in post Faizabad operation crisis.

Former premier Nawaz Sharif Thursday held meeting with Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz leaders. Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique and Senator Asif Kirmani were among other prominent figures to attend the meeting.

During the course of the all-important meeting, matters of special significance came under discussion, including: PML-N parliamentarians and provincial assembly members’ resignations after Faizabad operation, appearance before accountability court, Nawaz’s December tour to South Punjab and other important national issues.

On this occasion, Nawaz Sharif said that disgruntled members were after all a part of PML-N, and so their concerns will soon be addressed.

Nawaz has directed senior leaders of the party to make contact with the aggrieved law makers. Sources contend that key PML-N leaders will kick off South Punjab tour after December 15 so as to cajole the renegade members.
