WWF- Pakistan's Green office programme signs deal with Banglalink for controlling carbon emissions in offices

LAHORE: World Wildlife Fund’s Pakistan and Digital Communications Limited have decided to work together for the implementation of Green Office Initiative at their head office in Dhaka, Bangladesh. A memorandum has also signed between WWF and Banglalink for mutual cooperation. As per officials statement that the implantation of Green Office programme is very important because it will be helpful for Banglalink to decrease the use of electricity, paper, water and waste in the office. It will also be useful to reduce carbon emissions. The Green Office team of WWF Pakistan will provide its services to Banglalink regarding environment management system and the use of resources. The purpose of the Initiative is to bring behavioral change in its member offices. Dr. Masood Arshad Makhdoom, Director Climate Change WWF-Pakistan while appreciating the initiative stressed the need for more pro active measures to curb the adverse effects of the climate changes in Pakistan. Nazifa Butt, Manager Manager Environmental Assessment/Green Office Initiative, WWF-Pakistan, said organizations could play its effective role to minimize the climate change through the cut of direct and indirect carbon emissions from their offices.
