COAS General Raheel Sharif meets Pakistan Army's UN mission in Ivory Coast

IVORY COAST: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Friday visited Pakistan Army contingent deployed under UN flag in Ivory Coast and spent the whole day with officers, ISPR said. According to a statement issued by DG ISPR Asim Bajwa, General Sharif paid rich tributes to officers and men for professionalism, commitment to bring stability and promoting peace for a secure world under UN. The army chief acknowledged the sacrifices of Pakistani troops in peace keeping operations. “Pakistan is committed to meet emerging challenges of PKOs and continues to uphold UN and Pakistan flag fluttering high,” he said. In this occasion army chief said that Pak Army is one of the leading army who contribute his abilities in Peace keeping operations. “Pakistan is proud of its historic, current role as major troops contributor and takes it as obligation to participate in international peace and security. “Being one of leading troop contributors, Pakistan is currently deployed on 6 UN missions despite ongoing Operation Zarb-e-Azb and IBOs. “Our troops are proving their mettle on PKOs also. Ivory Coast President has paid rich tributes to the excellent performance of Pakistani troops,” he added.
