Pak-Egypt FMs review myriad aspects of bilateral relationship

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi met with Foreign Minister of Egypt Sameh Hassan Shoukry on the sidelines of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers' meeting, being held in Jeddah.
The meeting took place in a cordial atmosphere. The Foreign Minister extended felicitations to his Egyptian counterpart on the re-election of President Abdul Fattah Al Sisi and his government.
The two Ministers reviewed myriad aspects of the bilateral relationship. The two sides agreed to enhance economic relations and trade relations because the current level of bilateral trade is below potential of the two countries.
It was also agreed to hold meeting of the Joint Ministerial Commission at the earliest opportunity.
The Ministers also exchanged views on important developments in the Middle East and Gulf region. They emphasized on peaceful solution of all issues through diplomatic means.
Foreign Minister Qureshi also expressed Pakistan’s desire to enhance its engagements with Africa at a time when Egypt is the current chair of the African Union.
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has performed Umrah in Makkah and prayed for the country’s progress and prosperity.
Qureshi, who is in Saudi Arabia to participate in the ministerial meeting of Organization of Islamic Cooperation also offered Taraveeh prayers at the Holy Mosque.
