Debutant Pakistani batsman Abid Ali makes history

Dubai: A brilliant century by debutant Abid Ali gone in vain as Australia crushed Pakistan by 6 runs in the fourth One Day International (ODI) here at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Abid Ali made 112 runs before his departure. Abid Ali became third Pakistani to make century on debut.

With this victory, Australia have extended their winning streak to seven matches whereas it was Pakistan’s fourth consecutive loss in the series.

Wicket-keeper batsman Rizwan Ali also made 104 runs on 102 balls. It's the fourth time in history that a side has lost an ODI chase with two centurions.

Earlier, a 82-ball-98 by Maxwell has powered Australia to 277 runs against Pakistan in the fourth One-Day International (ODI) here at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Being sent into bat, Australi were 140-5 at one stage. However, Maxwell and AT Carey added 134 runs for the sixth wicket stand and lifted Australia to a respectable total of 277 runs.

Pakistan had rested Shoaib Malik and Imamul Haq whereas Saad Ali and Abid Ali made debut for the hosts.
