Papua New Guinea hit by 6.9 magnitude earthquake

A strong magnitude six point nine earthquake has struck off the cost of Papua New Guinea.
According to the US Geological Survey, hazardous tsunami waves are forecast for some coastlines.
There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
The quake struck at a shallow depth of ten kilometer and around one hundred sixty-two kilometer from the town of Rabaul on New Britain Island. APP/AFP
