Religious leaders decides to end sit-in protest after successful negotiations

ISLAMABAD: Religious leaders decided to end their sit-in protest in D-Chowk after the successful negotiations with government’s representatives and directed to protestors to leave peacefully for their homes.

 

As per details, negotiations was held between the representatives of government and protestors here at residence of federal minister for railway Khawaja Saad Rafique.

 

Federal minister Ishaq Dar, Saad Rafique and Pir Aminul Ahsanat were representing from government side during the dialogues. Allama Shah Awais Noorani and Haji Rafique Pardesi played an important role in the negotiations between both sides.

 

Both sides agreed on 7 points which includes that government will not amend Constitution’s Article 295-C, Pakistan’s blasphemy laws. In the second point, no one will be given any relief who convicted in blasphemy.

 

According to third point recommendations will be given to ministry for religious affairs in the context of Nizam-e-Mustafa. Fourth point stated that Ulema will give evidences of vulgar programs to PEMRA.

 

Religious leaders demanded in fifth point to release peaceful protestors in detention while in sixth point they demanded to review the forth schedule list and remove the name of innocent people form list. In the seventh point cases will be withdrawal against Ulema.
