Illegal Afghan immigrants arrested from capital

ISLAMABAD: (APP) Islamabad police along with Pakistan Rangers and other security agencies on Wednesday conducted search operation in various areas of Sabzi Mandi police station and arrested 32 suspects including seven Afghan nationals, a police source said.
According to details, officers/officials of Islamabad Police, Pak Rangers and other security agencies conducted search operation in various areas of Sabzi Mandi police station including sectors I-10/1, I-11 and its adjacent areas. During this search operation, 32 suspects including seven Afghan nationals were held and more than 130 houses were screened. Police released 18 persons after their identity verification.
SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani has said that the purpose of this search operation is to ensure high vigilance in the city and every effort will be made to ensure protection to the lives and property of citizens. He appealed the citizens to remain vigilant and inform police in case of any suspicious activity around them.
