India starts country’s first Trans-shipment port to cater Gwadar

NEW DEHLI: India has started building country's first trans-shipment port and facility projects of worth billions of dollars nearby to create a shipping hub rivalling Chinese facilities in the region.

The building of new port of Enayam in Tamil Nadu and facility at Vizhinjam port in Kerala aims to win international clients.

India is worried about China's expanding reach in the region through port investments in Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and the Maldives.
