US Counsel General calls on Punjab governor

LAHORE: (APP) Punjab Governor Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana on Tuesday said that education and health sectors were improving with the cooperation of the USA.
He was talking to newly appointed US Consul General in Lahore Yuriy Fedkiw, who met him at Governor's House here.
"America's support in different sectors is appreciable and Pakistan wants the USA expand more support in the field of education," the governor said.
Rafique Rajwana said that America would be encouraged to open campuses of its educational institutions in Pakistan in this regard.
He said that the efforts, which America was making under the USAID programme to bring improvement in the life of common man, was commendable.
The governor said that provision of basic facilities to people after taking them out of challenges was the mission of the incumbent government.
He said that for the first time record funds were being allocated for infrastructure and social sector.
Rafique Rajwana said that living standard of people were improving due to people friendly policies of the government.
"PML-N victory in by-polls actually shows the trust of people in PML-N's people-friendly policies.
He further said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project would be a game-changer in the region. He said that not only Pakistan but also other countries of South Asia would get benefit from the project.
Pakistan's war against terrorism was not only for its own terrority but linked with the peace of world and that was the reason that Pakistan's political, military leadership, and people were determined to root out the menace of terrorism.
American Consul General Yuriy Fedkiw said that his country was interested in finding new sectors to promote its support in the new fields.
He said his appointment as US Consul General Lahore was pride for him.
