Federal Government backtracks from claim of ending load shedding by May 1

The federal government has withdrawn its claim to end load shedding in the country from May 1 and announced to continue load shedding up to 50% from Sunday.

According to a statement issued by the Power Division, load shedding will be reduced by 50 per cent from Sunday and power generation will be increased by 2,000 MW from May 1.

According to the statement, load shedding in different areas will be reduced by 50%.

After that the power load shedding will be further reduced.
