Karachi: DG Port and Shipping, Aaliya Shahid, has stated that a ferry service will soon operate between Karachi and Gwadar. This announcement was made during an event held at the Pakistan Marine Academy to commemorate World Maritime Day. The ceremony was attended by Commandant PMA Commodore Rizwan Ali Munawar, as well as experts in maritime affairs, individuals from various walks of life, and a significant number of cadets specializing in nautical and engineering disciplines.
Speaking to the media on this occasion, DG Port and Shipping Aaliya Shahid mentioned that the Karachi to Gwadar ferry service will be initiated soon, and the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation will provide facilities for this service.
Through this service, travelers between the two cities will have an additional option of sea travel alongside the road route. This development holds significant promise for both Karachi and Gwadar, two major coastal cities in Pakistan. It not only enhances connectivity but also promotes maritime transportation, contributing to the economic and logistical development of the region.
As Pakistan continues to invest in its maritime infrastructure, initiatives like this ferry service are crucial steps towards improving transportation options and boosting trade and tourism in the coastal areas.
