Following the tragic incident in Mastung, which resulted in a massive explosion claiming the lives of over 50 people, including a police officer, Karachi's security was placed on high alert, as the city hosts numerous Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) processions.
The explosion occurred in close proximity to one such procession. Among the casualties was the Mastung Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Nawaz Gashkori.
Additionally, shortly after the Mastung incident, another explosion in KP's Hangu area resulted in at least two fatalities and numerous injuries within a mosque.
The nation is currently observing a national holiday for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), with special prayers for the unity of the Muslim Ummah and the progress and prosperity of the country being offered in mosques after the Fajr prayers.
