Gallup survey: Army most popular institution in Pakistan

In a recent Gallup survey conducted nationwide, the Pakistan Army has emerged as the institution with the highest level of public support, achieving an impressive 88 percent approval rating.

This survey, titled the 'National Public Opinion Poll Report' and conducted between June 10 and June 30, collected responses from 3,500 participants representing diverse regions in all four provinces of Pakistan.

The survey shed light on the public's sentiments toward various institutions and political figures, providing a comprehensive snapshot of Pakistan's current political landscape and the challenges it faces, including issues like inflation, poverty, unemployment, and concerns about the effectiveness of democracy.

The survey results revealed the public's perception of different institutions, with both the media and the courts receiving a 56 percent approval rating, while the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) received a 42 percent approval rating.

The police garnered a 54 percent approval rating, while politicians received the lowest rating on the list, with only 39 percent of respondents approving of their performance.

When broken down by region, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) led the army's approval ratings with an impressive 91 percent, closely followed by Punjab at 90 percent. Sindh recorded an 88 percent approval rating for the army, while Balochistan showed the lowest approval at 66 percent. Notably, 57 percent of respondents strongly approved of the army's performance.
