CM's message on world heart day

LAHORE, (APP): Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said that cardiac problem was the biggest cause of death in the world.

 

In his message on the World Heart Day, he said reasons of cardiac disease included high blood pressure, cholesterol, smoking and unbalanced diet. Walk, balanced diet and exercise were useful acts to remain safe from the heart trouble, he addded.

 

The purpose of celebrating this day was to enhance public awareness about safety and treatment of heart diseases, he said.

 

The chief minister said that the role of organizations working for cardiac problems was important in addition to the job of the Health Department and added that holding of awareness seminars was also important.

 

He said that 100-bed state-of-the-art emergency had been established in the Punjab Institute of Cardiology and cardiac wards were also being established in other hospitals.

 

The latest facilities for the treatment of heart problem will be provided in these cardiac wards.

 

"Today, we should reiterate our commitment that all necessary steps will be taken to remain safe from the cardiac problems and to provide best healthcare facilities to the masses," he added.
